Let me introduce myself

I’m a UX Researcher working in the Enterprise product space, with experience in both B2B and B2C. Drawing on my time conducting ethnographic work, owning my own business, working as an SEO Specialist and UX Designer, and 20+ years of mindfulness and teaching practices, I adapt research strategies to deliver value at any point in the design process.

I’m able to see the big picture and plan the steps toward meaningful progress, articulate complex ideas in simple terms, and engage cross-functional teams in the process of understanding and taking action based on research insights. I lead and mentor junior researchers while managing the research function within my organization.

Whatever type of research I'm doing, I'm thoughtful with my words, thorough with my thinking, and highly engaged. I’m comfortable speaking and presenting to business stakeholders at various levels of leadership, and can explain the design process in-depth. I’ve been a “good listener” since I was young, and interact easily with customers and subject matter experts alike.

Delivering education about what it means to increasingly adopt a human-centered mindset is an element of everything I do. Each of my reports aims to invite the audience to evaluate assumptions, gain skills intelligently analyzing a design, and empathize more deeply with customers. I avoid analysis paralysis, so I always aim for a team to be able to do something with specific recommendations.

Research Skillset

My UX Research skills fall largely within the Qualitative Research space illustrated by Indie Young’s informational diagram below. The exception would be be for certain studies in the “usability research” bubble on the right.
